At the beginning of this year’s Scriptural reading schedule, I am beginning a new video series on the parsha, covering material I have mostly already written about in my blog. This is an effort to get the gospel out as much as possible in a format that I believe is as yet not widely approached: through the lens of the ancient Jewish reading schedule that stretches back to the ancient sages, even the generation of Messiah.

Jesus said the Scriptures attest to Him: “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me” (Jn. 5:39). On the road to Emmaus, Jesus (unbeknownst to them) taught two of His disciples:

And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself (Lk. 24:25-27).

I have pretty much completed my written journey through these Scriptures that attest to the Messiah in the parsha schedule, and even then, I have only scratched the surface. But it is better to scratch the surface than never break the surface.

Why am I doing it again in a video format? Because not everyone has time to read. I have been that person many times myself. They don’t have time to read, but they have time to listen. So this is for the folks who don’t have time to read, or who understand better by listening, who may be in an audience my written blog would never reach. The point is Messiah. The message is the gospel. The purpose is the saving of lives.

This video format is primarily meant for YouTube, but I will also post the videos on my website. If you have enjoyed my series this last year, then feel free to like, subscribe, and share videos from my YouTube channel. I will also get more into my music posts this year like I used to.

This first video is a reintroduction of myself, that you understand where I am coming from as a person to better understand what I attempt to persuade people of concerning the Scriptures. At the very least, take a little time to consider these things. Thank you.
