Set your mind on things above
And not on things below,
For wherever your treasure is
Your heart will be also.
Do not store your treasure up
Where moth and rust destroy,
Where thieves can break into and steal
And you will none enjoy.
Store your treasure in heaven
Where moth and rust can’t touch.
If your treasure stays on the earth
It won’t amount to much.
Store your treasure in heaven
Where thieves can’t steal away,
Because if your treasure’s up there,
You know it’s there to stay.
The things that last, that will remain
Are things we cannot see,
And wherever your treasure is
Your heart will also be.
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Mt. 6:19-21).
17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:17-18).
