I Am an Evergreen Tree.
From Me comes your fruit.
I Am an Evergreen Tree.
I Am David’s Root.
I Am an Evergreen Tree
In midsummer’s heat.
I Am an Evergreen Tree
In its winter retreat.

When you decorate your fir,
And spruce your spruce with tinsel,
Wrap your cedar in garland,
Put on your pine lit icicles,
Add ornaments to your cypress
Of snowmen, polar bears,
Penguins, Santas, souvenirs
And other charming wares,
Are these all about Me?
Is this the same tree?

O Israel, what do I have
With idols to comport?
O Israel, what do I have
To do with false comfort?

I Am an Evergreen Tree.
From Me comes your fruit.
I Am an Evergreen Tree.
I Am David’s Root.
I Am an Evergreen Tree
In midsummer’s heat.
I Am an Evergreen Tree
In its winter retreat.

Remember that apart from me
There’s nothing you can do.
Remember that I Am the Vine1
Before your branch e’er grew
I Am the King from Bethlehem
Whose days are from of old.2
I Am the Everlasting Father3
Whom prophets foretold.
‘Cause without me you could not be
My Evergreen died on a tree.

I Am the Evergreen Tree.
From Me come your fruit.
Israel, do not forget Me
Because I am Your Root.

O Ephraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress; from me comes your fruit (Hosea 14:8).

Merry Christmas, and until next time, God bless.
